In every organization—and especially in healthcare—a safe working environment is essential. Employees must be able to perform their jobs without fear of intimidation, bullying, abuse of power, or other forms of undesirable behavior.
In practice, however, employees and other stakeholders often don't report problems immediately. The threshold for reporting is high. People don't want to be seen as "difficult," fear the consequences, or doubt whether the situation is serious enough.
It is precisely in such situations that having an independent and competent expert available is crucial.
This is the role of the confidential advisor or liaison.

My role as an LVV-Certified Confidential Counselor
As an LVV-Certified Confidential Counselor, I offer safe and straightforward initial consultations to people experiencing inappropriate behavior or integrity issues.
My role is clearly defined:
I am neither an investigator nor a member of a complaints committee, nor an advocate for the organization. My primary responsibility lies with the individual who contacts me. My guiding principle is always: safety, security, and care.
As an LVV-Certified Confidential Counselor, I offer safe and straightforward initial consultations to people experiencing inappropriate behavior or integrity issues.
My role is clearly defined:
- Independent
- Impartial
- Confidential
- Supportive

What can you expect from me?
When someone contacts me, I take the time to listen. Often, simply being able to tell their story openly is helpful.
Then I offer support in:
Sometimes someone just needs to talk. Sometimes support is needed to have a conversation with a manager or colleague. In other cases, I support the filing of a report or complaint.
The person making the report always retains control. I do not share any information without their consent.

- clarifying the situation
- organizing feelings and concerns
- discussing possibilities and options
- explaining rights and procedures
- planning the next steps

I am a registered/certified confidential counselor and a member of the Dutch professional organization "Landelijke Vereniging van Vertrouwenspersonen" (LVV). This means that I work according to established quality standards, continuously develop my professional skills, and adhere to a professional code of conduct.
