Working on mental resilience when life is uncontrollable
In my practice, I encounter people daily who are facing difficult life circumstances. Illness, loss, conflicts, heavy workloads, or persistent stress can make life increasingly difficult. Many try to cope with this burden by suppressing their feelings or constantly striving to be "strong."
But this very inner struggle often leads to exhaustion.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) offers a different approach. It is a modern, scientifically proven form of therapy and coaching that promotes psychological flexibility and resilience.
Therefore, ACT forms an important foundation of my psychosocial support at Psychomarker Consulting.

Not everything is solvable
In healthcare, as in life in general, there are situations that don't simply vanish into thin air. Chronic illnesses, grief, relationship tensions, or moral dilemmas at work cannot be "fixed."
Nevertheless, many people continue to try to suppress difficult thoughts and feelings. This drains energy and often leads to avoidance, withdrawal, or exhaustion.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps break this vicious cycle.
The central question shifts from:
"How do I get rid of my symptoms?"
to:
"How can I continue to lead a fulfilling life despite these symptoms?"
This changed perspective often brings inner peace and new insights.

Acceptance as an Active Stance
In Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), acceptance means not resigning oneself to one's situation or giving up. It means stopping the fight against one's inner world, one's own feelings and emotions.
When feelings are allowed, less energy needs to be wasted on them. This energy is then available for what is truly important: making decisions, setting boundaries, and giving direction to life.
Many clients experience this as an enormous relief.

Based on your personal values
In my coaching, I support you in discovering what is truly important to you. What gives your life meaning? What do you want to stand up for?
Many people lose their inner compass when faced with persistent stress. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps them rediscover it and act step by step in accordance with their values.
This leads not only to less worry, but above all to a higher quality of life.

How I apply ACT in the context of PSYCHOMARKER Consulting
I use ACT in counseling, coaching, and psychosocial support for:
My approach is practical and experience-based. We combine conversations with exercises, reflection, and concrete behavioral steps. Always tailored to your individual situation.
For me, ACT is not a standard method, but a person-centered counseling approach.
ACT is closely related to mindfulness (MBSR/MBCT). Mindfulness (MBSR/MBCT) helps you to be consciously present in the moment and to observe thoughts and feelings without judgment. This gives you inner peace and new perspectives.
Based on this foundation, ACT supports you in consciously managing your actions. At PSYCHOMARKER Consulting, I therefore offer both individual counseling and mindfulness training.
- Stress and burnout
